What Is SEO?

Why Is SEO so important?

A black and white drawing of the words `` why seo ''.

I see a lot of ads on the internet about web design, and most of them will probably do an ok job at building you a decent website. But if we're being truthful here, if you pay $700, $1500, or $12K for a website, more times than not, that's all your getting...a website. GREAT, you now have a website! Guess what? Now your website is out there in the virtual world among billions of other websites where nobody will ever find you. Web design is great, I love building websites! If you're using it for just a personal site, all you need is a pretty page to show your friends. But if you're using it for your business,

you need a sharp looking and FUNCTIONAL site that is not only appealing, but is professional looking and more importantly, productive! By productive I mean optimized onsite and offsite. The real key to an effective website is a comprehensive SEO plan. SEO is what makes you the money because web SEO is what gets your site ranked so that potential customers can find you! SEO begins during the site build and continues through the life of the website. If anybody tells you different, they are just trying to get a few hundred bucks a month from you with little to no results because they did little to no work. You may see results short term, but if you want continued success, you have to have an SEO person that continues to work your site, continues to improve the content, keep up with the latest criteria that Google uses to rank sites. You need someone that will not only manage your site, but your entire online presence, that's what SEO really is! A great Spartanburg SEO person manages your business in the virtual world. The internet is not going away, and in today's market, if you want to be successful in your business, it HAS to include an online management plan.

Your choices when considering SEO

A sign that says what 's the seo plan

Here are your choices in regards to SEO! When considering how to go about your SEO plan, think about the options!

1. Do nothing - If you do nothing, then nothing is what you'll get! You'll be lost in the abyss of websites.

2. Do it yourself - SEO is a very time consuming undertaking even for experts that know what they're doing! If this is your choice, be prepared to spend a LOT of time and money learning the craft and perfecting it, then conducting the SEO on your site! If you're a business owner, who has time for that? And if you take the time, will you have a business when you get done?

3. Hire an SEO person and do the SEO in-house! This may be an option for a large corporation, but for small to mid sized businesses, this is way too expensive. Be expected to pay $65k a year plus benefits, which would send it over the $100k mark.

4. Outsource SEO - Hire a person or SEO company to do the SEO! Consider that outsourcing can run as little as $700 per month depending on several factors. The population of the market, the difficulty of the niche, what needs to be done (content, etc.), the competitiveness of the niche. (example: underwater basket weaving in Detroit vs. Plastic Surgeon in LA). So as you can see, even if you consult with us, and determine that you are at the high end of $2k per month, you're less than 50% of option 3. Nationally, the average for Professional SEO services costs an average of anywhere between $1,348 and $3,200  month.

So, you have a decision to make! Take the easy way out and do nothing and never grow your business, do it yourself and spend a ton of time and money while putting your business in jeopardy while you learn, hire someone in-house, or outsource the SEO. To me, the choice is a no-brainer! Coupled with our commitment to customer service, our long-standing results, plus our long-term client relationships, Carpe DM Products is the best choice.
